The work of photographer Lucas Kozmus tells stories, a simple stories many of us are familiar with. However, although the stories are simple, they have a psychological effect that works in perfect sync with the brain and the heart. For instance, the image above tells a story of joy and happiness, but Lucas Kozmus’ ability to capture the moment by a single lens at the perfect moment brings reality and life to his work. Animated and inanimate objects coexisting together in perfect unity. The smiling children running from the pouring rain and the street city setting fills my body with nostalgia.
I am captivated and I feel challenged because I experience well-known emotions such as joy and happiness, but at the same time the photo brings a sense mystery and exploration that I cannot fully understand. I would compare it to a black box with something special inside. Something that cannot be accurately analyzed or described, but that it stirs something great deep in your soul.
I believe that his photography steals something from you that one must rush into the abyss to get it back. It may be a memory, emotion, or whatever it is, but all I know is that I rather get lost into inception than to let it slip away.
Please tell Mr. Kozmus that he has just gained another admirer.
Enjoy some more of Lucas Kozmus on me and please share any thoughts you might have.
